Latest figures for the hours of training completed by LGV drivers for the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Driving Standards Agency,

Please could you provide me with figures showing the hours of training logged by DSA for LGV drivers completing the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

This request covers the total number of training hours completed each year since Driver CPC was introduced in 2009 as well as the latest figures for this year. Hopefully, this will illustrate whether or not demand for the training has risen as the September, 2014, deadline for completing the required 35 hours approaches.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Guy Sheppard

Dear Mr Sheppard

Information requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FoIA)

Further to our email of 8 April, I can confirm that we have handled your
request within the terms of the FoIA.

You asked for the number of training hours of driver certificate of
professional competence completed since 2009 for large goods vehicle
drivers.  This information is not held as we do not capture on our data
base what licence entitlements the recipient of the training holds.  We do
however hold information about the total number of hours training
delivered and you can find this information on our website at
[1]www.dft.gov.uk/publications/dsa-driver-cpc-statistics/ (if you scroll
to the bottom of the webpage, you will also find links to historical
reports.  This information is therefore exempt under section 21
(information accessible by other means) of the FoIA.

If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request, you should
ask for an internal review by contacting Alison Wilson, Information
Compliance Manager, at the above address.

Yours sincerely
