Last year how many women were referred to attend a Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP) as a court ordered activity
Dear Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service,
In your press release "Spotlight on Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programmes", August 2016 (https://www.cafcass.gov.uk/news/2016/aug...) you say:
"Last year over 700 men were referred across England to attend a Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP) as a court ordered activity"
I would like to know:
1) In the same period how many women were referred across England to attend a DVPP as a court ordered activity?
2) How many places are available on DVPP programmes across England for women?
3) Given that the Crime Survey of England and Wales consistently finds 40% of perpetrators of Domestic Violence are women, how are Cafcass and the Family Court complying with their public sector duty of equality if they are only referring men to DVPP courses?
Yours faithfully,
Brian Maloney

Hi Brian.
I have more or less the same question...https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...
I believe I asked this a while back and was fed baloney as such.
But to give you up to date answers to your questions:
1. Zero
2. Zero
3. Cafcass does not have that information.
Its barbaric that DV against men isn't recognised as an equal. You may want to look at my requests on DV refuges where every council within England and Wales was contacted and you can clearly see how bias it is towards females and how ignorant DV against males is when taking into consideration the CSEW figures. This is further evidence with The Istanbul Convention and the serious lack of publications from The Home Office.
