This freedom of information request is about the use of housing referrals and incentives paid to landlords to secure private rented accommodation for households.
Unless otherwise specified the requests relate to the 1st January 2022 to 31st July, 2023.
Please provide figures that have been paid to private landlords in the form of cash incentives to secure private rented accommodation, including the length of tenancy as well as the incentive made to secure the tenancy?
Please provide a list of the locations (local authorities) where you have placed households for private rented accommodation?
Please provide confirmation as to whether you have specified PRS landlord contacts within another local authority district. If yes, please confirm how many landlords and which local authority these are in.
Please confirm how do you advertise your private rented scheme to the market and prospective landlords?
Please confirm if you offer any additional incentives (other than financial) to landlords to accept households?
Please confirm when placing outside of your District do you inform the LA of the placement in their area with a s208 notification?

I can confirm that Brent Council holds the information you have
requested.
1. Please provide figures that have been paid to private landlords in the
form of cash incentives to secure private rented accommodation,
including the length of tenancy as well as the incentive made to
secure the tenancy?
We pay up the pan -London rate for incentives for studios and one beds; we
pay up to £5,500K for 2 and 4 beds; up to £6K for 3 beds. These are for 2
year tenancies.
2. Please provide a list of the locations (local authorities) where you
have placed households for private rented accommodation?
The locations below refer to temporary accommodation placements that begun
between 01/01/2022 and 31/07/2023 with private sector stock.

4. Please confirm how do you advertise your private rented scheme to the
market and prospective landlords? We attend various landlord forums
and landlord shows; we also advertise on the Brent website.
5. Please confirm if you offer any additional incentives (other than
financial) to landlords to accept households?
We offer a repair bond to cover any damages in the property up to a
certain value. We also offer a rent bond to cover up to 6 months’ of
rental arrears where the tenant hasn’t paid their contribution towards the
rent.
6. Please confirm when placing outside of your District do you inform the
LA of the placement in their area with a s208 notification?
Yes, we do
