Dear Copeland Borough Council,

Please can you tell me, in acres, what 'land banks' do you have?
Where are these assets, specifically?
Also, what financial reserves do you have?

Additionally, how has the status of these changed over the past 10 years.

Thank you in advance for this information. I look forward to hearing from you promptly.

Yours faithfully,

Fiona Goldie

Freedom of Information, Copeland Borough Council

Dear Fiona Goldie

Thank you for your request for information regarding land banking and financial reserves.

I can advise that the information requested is as follows:

We do not 'land bank' - as a Local Authority we have land ownerships throughout the borough in a multitude of locations for varying uses/purposes but do not acquire land for land banking.
Our Asset Register is published as part of our Strategic Asset Management Plan which states 'asset class' and the location of each land parcel in our ownership. The register is due to be updated this financial year.
Asset register is published on CBC website:
https://copeland.moderngov.co.uk/documen... ASSET MANAGEMENT PLAN 2019-2024 V1.1 003.pdf

Capital receipts Reserve 4,237,000.00 5,327,000.00
Capital grants unapplied reserve 51,000.00 1,781,000.00

Total Council Reserves 47,263,000.00 33,336,000.00
