Lancaster students with ICCE qualifications
Dear Lancaster University,
I am researching the International Certificate of Christian
Education (ICCE), an alternative qualification offered by some
private Christian schools. From 1992 until 2004, the ICCE was
called the National Christian Schools Certificate (NCSC). Some
websites advertising the qualification claim that the ICCE has been
used to gain acceptance onto courses at Lancaster, eg:
http://icce-global.org/universities-and-...
I am seeking the following information in electronic form.
1. Have students been accepted by your institution on the basis of
NCSC or ICCE qualifications? If so, how many?
2. What is your institution’s policy on acceptance of the ICCE
Advanced Certificate? Does your institution recognise it as a
university entrance qualification?
Yours faithfully,
Jonny

With reference to q.1, the information required to answer your request is
not held centrally by the University, and it would exceed the statutory
cost limit equivalent to 18 hours to extract and collate the information.
Therefore we are unable to provide this information, and this email serves
as our refusal notice.
In response to q.2, we can confirm that Lancaster University recognises
the International Advanced Certificate of Christian Education and has made
offers to applicants on the basis of the completed qualification. The
University would benchmark the General Certificate at the same level as
GCSE qualifications and the Advanced Certificate at the same level as A
level qualifications.
