For every school in England, please could you provide the following information for the year ending April 2010?
1. CFR codes
E02 - supply teachers
E10 - Supply Insurance
E26 - Agency Supply Staff
I would like to receive the information in excel format please. I would like the data columns to include the following:-

Dear Mr McCoy,
Thank you for your request for information which was received on 14 November 2010. You requested, for every
school in England, for the year ending April 2010, information for 3 Consistent Financial Reporting (CFR) codes:
E02 (supply teachers), E10 (supply insurance) and E26 (agency supply staff). I have dealt with your request
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ("the Act").
The Department holds the information you requested for maintained schools, but it is being withheld under the
exemption in Section 22 of the Act because it is intended for future publication.
Our White Paper The Importance of Teaching
explains that as part of our drive for transparency, we will publish data about how much each school spends and
on what, alongside data about how well their pupils achieve. In January 2011, downloadable data tables using
CFR data for 2009-10 will be published online for members of the public to view. The data will be published at
individual school level using grouped categories of income and expenditure. It will be published in a clear and
simple format making it more accessible to the general public.
The information you requested is not held by this Department for non-maintained schools. Only maintained
schools are required to submit CFR data. Academies and independent schools are not required to submit CFR data
currently, including schools which have recently converted to academy status.
The exemption in Section 22 is a qualified exemption and therefore we have considered the public interest
balance. The arguments for and against release have been assessed and it is our view that the balance of public
interest falls in favour of the exemption for the information relating to this particular request. The public
interest in permitting the government to publish information in a manner and at a time of their own choosing is
important. It is part of the effective conduct of public affairs that the general publication of information is
a conveniently planned and managed activity within the reasonable control of the department."
