KOLL clarification for Tier1-general to ILR

The request was successful.

Dear Home Office,

I came to UK in 2011 as a Tier1-General, and in 2013 extended my Tier1-general for another 3 years, and next month will be applying for ILR.

In order to qualify the english language requirement at the time of entry clearance in 2011, I had cleared IELTS General with an overall score of 6.5 ( Listening-7.0,Reading-7.0,Writing-6.5,Speaking-6.5). I had used the same IELTS score when I extended my Tier1-General visa in 2013.

Now with the Koll-v18, it states a person needs to have cleared either B1 level OR degree in English OR from an English speaking country to meet the English language requirement for ILR.

In my case, as I have already proven my english language level once at the time of entry clearance though IELTS, will I need to retake B1-level test to prove it again ? Can't I show the same IELTS as a proof of English language requirement when I apply for ILR next Month ?

Request you to please clarify.

Yours faithfully,
J. Varghese

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email correspondence of 21 January.

Approved English language qualifications
You can prove your knowledge of English by having a recognised English test qualification from an approved test centre.

You need to have a certificate to prove you have the qualification, or be able to view your results online.

You can only use English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) qualifications if they’re on the list. You can’t use other qualifications, eg GCSEs, A levels or National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).

If your qualification has run out
Some recognised test qualifications only last for 2 years. You can still use a B1 level qualification that you took more than 2 years ago in 2 situations.

Applying to settle in the UK

You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if you’re applying to settle in the UK and it was accepted for another UK immigration application, eg when you got permission to enter.

This information can be found on the below link:
