Dear Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council,

In the January 2016 edition of the Knowsley Challenge, Councillor Mike Murphy states, that after the Local Plan's greenbelt release, "Knowsley will still retain 49% of it's greenbelt"

Can you give me the exact locations of all of this greenbelt.

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

Paul of the Woods Family

I am sorry, but this does not answer my request for information. The map is confusing, and not at all accurate.

For example, it has land on Primrose Drive/ Knowsley Lane (Longview ex Teachers Centre) down as 'urban greenspace' when it is fenced off, overgrown and I believe there is going to be houses built there. That can NOT be urban greenspace.

I asked for "the exact locations of all of this greenbelt.". So I would be grateful if you would give me a list of all the locations of greenbelt in Knowsley that makes up the 49% of land the Mike Murphy says is Knowsley's remaining greenbelt.

Thank You

Yours sincerely,

Paul of the Woods Family

Dear Mr Woods,

Thank you for your e-mail below. We have checked the link that was provided to you and have confirmed that it does give a full answer to your question. If you click on the Green Belt layer (clearly marked on the key - which is effectively two large areas and one smaller area) it gives the hectarage of the Green Belt designations.

If you remain dissatisfied with this response you can submit an Internal Review by completing the information on the following link https://secured.knowsley.gov.uk/haveyour....

Dear Freedom of Information,

If it is correct, then why is land on Primrose Drive/ Knowsley Lane (Longview ex Teachers Centre) down as 'urban greenspace' when it is fenced off, overgrown and I believe there is going to be houses built
there?

Yours sincerely,

Dear Mr Woods,

The role of the Local Plan Policies Map is to show the land use designations across the whole of Knowsley. The reason that the land at Primrose Drive / Knowsley Lane is shown as "Urban Greenspace" is that it is currently covered by the designation "Urban Greenspace and Educational Land". This designation was made in 2006 by the Knowsley Unitary Development Plan, reflecting its use at that time as a training centre. The Map is only updated when a new Local Plan document, which changes land designations, is adopted. The Map is not, and cannot be, a "live" record of land uses across Knowsley. It does however show the accurate extent of Green Belt designations in Knowsley, as referred to in the original FOI request.

Dear Freedom of Information,

If "the Map is not, and cannot be, a "live" record of land uses across Knowsley.", then the map cannot and does not answer my request for info does it, simply because, by your own admission here, it is not a 'live'record. Indeed the Longview 'urban space' is NOT urban space, the record is out of date by TEN YEARS, come on!

You could have supplied me with a list of all the 49% greenbelt instead of wasting my time and yours arguing the toss. I haven't got the time to trawl through an outdated, and confusing map.

If you have had time to work out that there is 49% greenbelt left after the local plan, then you must have a report of where that is. Seriously.

Yours sincerely,

Paul of the Woods Family
