Juveniles detained under section 38 PACE

The request was successful.

Dear Hull City Council,

I have to hand data provided by Humberside police concerning juveniles charged and detained under section 38 PACE for 1.4.13 to year end and from the commencement of 2014 to 31.5.14. The data is broken down by alleged offence and by age. No other detail is available.

Would you be so kind to advise in relation to the two periods of time in question:

1. How many requests were received from Humberside Police for a. open local authority accommodation or b. secure accommodation?

2. How many juveniles were transferred to local authority accommodation (which should be recorded in DoE statistical returns)?
3. What were the outcomes at first court appearance of a. those transferred and b. those held in police cells?
4. Please provide any policies, procedures both within the LA and/or externally with the police or any other organisation concerning juveniles detained after charge.

May I thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Charles Bell

MacDonald Calum, Hull City Council
