Justification for lack of traffic lights near Old Trafford
Dear Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council,
I hope you're well. I would like to have any information related to impact assessments of the lack of crossing signals for pedestrians where the top of Warwick Road meets the A56 near Old Trafford.
The corner is a blind corner, blocked by a pub, The Trafford, and the drop curb is quite close the corner, so it is difficult for cars to slow down in time. It is difficult to tell when it is safe for pedestrians to cross, due to the lack of crossing signals and given the lack of consideration to them in the road design.
This is a busy area and I find it difficult to understand the reason why greater consideration has not been given to pedestrians at what is clearly a less than ideal crossing. Therefore I would like to have any details of impact assessments showing why crossing signals for pedestrians are not needed.
Yours faithfully,
J Holder
