Junior Research Fellowship Recruitment
Dear All Souls College, Oxford,
Please could you provide me with some specific data from your Equal Opportunities Monitoring Forms for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellows/Postdoctoral Research Fellows (Stipendiary and Non-stipendiary) for the last 10 years.
I would like anonymised statistics pertaining to unsuccessful applicants' gender, age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, and religion.
I would like anonymised statistics pertaining to successful applicants' gender, age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, and religion.
Yours faithfully,
Gwendolen Bowles
Dear Mrs Bowles,
All Souls College holds a competition for Post-Doctoral Research
Fellowships in alternate years. 2010 was the first year in which the
College asked applicants to submit a separate equality monitoring form
with their applications for Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships. The
information collected has since been increased to include questions on
disability and more detailed information on age and ethnicity but the
College does not ask candidates for fellowships or other employment to
declare their sexual orientation or religion.
Most of the publishable available data about Post-Doctoral Research
Fellowship applications is included in Tables 3 and 4 of the College's
[1]Equality Monitoring Reports published on its website at
[2]https://www.asc.ox.ac.uk/sites/stage.all...
. I also enclose relevant extracts from our anonymised data records about
their age, more detailed information about their ethnicity, and disability
information where available but, because the numbers of successful
applicants is very small and sensitive personal information about the
successful candidates whose identify is in the public domain, could be
inferred easily if we were to publish the information requested about the
successful and unsuccessful candidates, this information is withheld under
Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act. The information provided
is about eligible applicants.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah Beaver
