Dear Kent Police,

In relation to your joint response unit collaberating police and paramedics please can you clarify the following:

Is this unit still in operation?

When does it operate?

Since the start of 2018 how many incidents have the joint response unit attended?

Are there specific types of incident that the JRU do or do not respond to?

Of the incidents responded to how many times were a backup ambulance called?

Does the JRU transport appropriate patients to hospital or do they request backup from an ambulance?

What vehicles are used by the JRU and are they supplied by the police or ambulance service?

Does the police control room or the ambulance control room have ultimate control over the JRU?

Do the police officers receive any additional medic training above standard police first aid?

Are the JRU dispatched in place of police units or alongside?

Is there a commitment for the JRU to continue for a set period of time or indefinitely?

Yours faithfully,

Rich
