I am writing regarding your Freedom of Information request received by the
department on the 3 August 2018

The Freedom of Information Act enables access to information held by the
Council, subject to the exemptions contained within the Act. The Act does
not require the Council to create information to respond to a request if
the requested information is not held, nor to give an opinion or comment.

Please find our response to your Freedom of Information request below:

I am writing to request the job titles and accompanying salary range/scale
for any employees handling data protection and information governance
matters in your organisation. For example, job titles may include the
following:

Data Protection Officer

Records Manager

Freedom of Information Officer

Information Governance Officer

Information Governance Assistant

Subject Access Reader

Information Access Officer

Braintree District Council does not have dedicated officers dealing with
Data Protection and Information Governance, and these functions are
performed by a number of officers of the Council as part of their duties
which are set out below:

•Head of Governance – Grade SMG4 (£61,707 to £67,842) This post is also
the Council’s designed Data Protection Officer.  In addition to this the
Head of Governance also provides advice on Freedom of Information and
Environmental Information Regulations (and acts as the internal review
officer under FOIA and EIR) and Information Governance)

•Governance and Members Manager – Grade SMG1 (£38,889 to £43,410)  This
post is also the Deputy Data Protection Officer to the Head of
Governance.  In addition to this the Governance and Members Manager also
provides advice on Freedom of Information and Environmental Information
Regulations (and acts as the internal review officer under FOIA and EIR)
and Information Governance)

•Governance and Information Lawyer – Grade 5 (£31,719 to £36,519)

•Performance & Information Manager – Grade 5 (£31,719 to £36,519)

•Performance & Information Officer – Grade 3 (£22,632 to 27,636)
