FOI, West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Louise Blendell

I am writing to confirm that the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust has now
completed its search for the information which you requested on 11^th
December 2019

Please provide answers to the following questions:

 1. How long (no. of hours) is your IT Training (on patient systems) for
doctors on induction?

Our Doctors Induction is normally a day approximately 6 hours for the IT
Training. This includes any additional elearning they have to complete and
if they are going to be working in Clinics. Currently the PFPP Induction
is 3.5 hours but that is because they do not cover clinics.

 2. Is the training face to face, eLearning or a combination of both?

All our Doctors who attend Induction is Face to Face with an element of
elearning

 3. Is the doctors IT Training (on patient systems) completed prior to
arrival or once the doctor arrives at the hospital?

The IT Training is completed when they start at the Hospital.

 4. How is this training funded? Are doctors paid for their time or given
time off in lieu?

Doctors are paid for attending Induction

 5. Do doctors get any support from the IT Trainers following their
initial training? e.g. floorwalkers/coaching/mentoring

Yes Doctors do receive support from the Trainers if they require it or if
some feel they are struggling after training.  There are usually
floorwalkers available and peer support.
