Can you please give me an indication of your current IT budget and which IT systems you use to support and manage inspections? Also can you please confirm the number of inspectors and the number of inspections a year?

Dear Ms Wisniewska,


Thank you for your request for information relating to the National Audit
Office’s (NAO)’s IT budget.  Specifically, you requested:


·         current IT budget and which IT systems NAO uses to support and
manage ‘inspections;’ 

·         number of NAO ‘inspectors’ and the number of ‘inspections’
carried out in a year.


Your request was received 16 March 2017 and is being handled under the
terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.


I can confirm that the NAO’s IT budget in 2016/17 was £3.1m.


The NAO is an audit organisation and we do not recognise the terms
‘inspector’ or ‘inspections.’  The NAO carries out statutory audits of
central government departments, agencies, and other publicly funded
bodies.  We employ auditors and analysts to carry out this work.  The
