Dear Mr. Dunlop,

Thank you for your correspondence dated 28 July 2014 and your request for
information therein.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 you have requested information
in relation to Down District Council and its spend on IT in the last three
years.  I confirm your request has now been processed as a request under
the terms of the Act and, accordingly, please see the responses in red
below.

I would like the above information as follows:

Amount spent on Infrastructure- Servers, SAN’s, Switches etc
Amount spent on Peripherals – Laptops, Desktops etc.
Amount spent on Software Systems.
Amount spent on Support
Amount spent on Networking
Any other spend

The breakdown of IT costs which Down District Council holds does not
exactly correspond with your categorizations above; Infrastructure
includes Networking and Services in this instance represents Support.
Please note that in 2012/13 Down District Council moved its headquarters
to new offices at the Downshire Civic Centre.

Can you also provide the number of IT users the council currently has?
270

I also request the annual budget the Council has to spend on IT, IT
procurement and related services.
Down District Council's 2014/15 IT Budget is £448,292 and please see the
breakdown of this this budget below in relation to IT, procurement and
related services:

Finally, I would also like to know what plans are in place to procure IT
hardware/software/Services over the next two years and an estimated budget
for this.

Down District Council has no plans to procure IT hardware/ software/
services over the next two years as Down District Council will cease to
exist on 31 March 2015.  Its successor will be a new, larger Newry, Mourne
and Down Council.  This new Council will be responsible for IT provision
and procurement.

If you wish to discuss the above, please do not hesitate to contact me
directly.

I trust this is of assistance.  However, should you be unhappy with our
response in this matter you may request an Internal Review of our response
and you can contact me in that regard. In the event you are unhappy with
the outcome of any Internal Review conducted by the Council you may apply
to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) for a review of our
response. Please note that the ICO generally expects Internal Reviews to
be completed prior to reviewing the decisions of public bodies.  For
further information in relation to Freedom of Information I would direct
you to the website of the Information Commissioner at: [1]www.ico.gov.uk
