Dear Mr McKenna,

Please accept our sincere apologies for the late response to your

Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA). Aberdeen City Council (ACC)
has completed the necessary search for the information requested.

There is no specific IT Patch management documented strategy in place.
Critical operating system patches are applied as and when necessary.

corporate environment and twice yearly in the schools environment.

Specifically;

a) What patch management solution, if any, is in place?

In the Corporate Environment, patch management is currently applied
using Patchlink Solution.
For schools, there is no specific solution: patches are currently
applied manually to servers and then deployed to desktops through
CCs/CC4 environment.

b) What was the cost of purchasing and installing this solution?

The cost of purchase, installation and a 2 year subscription (which ran
from 1 April 2009) to Patchlink Solution was £69,390

service?

Please see response to c) above. The cost of subscription for this
service is included with the purchase and installation costs.

We hope this helps with your request.
