4) What is your current Intranet solution and how long has it been in use?

6) Who is responsible for managing your Intranet?
7) Who is responsible for the procurement of your Intranet?
8) Who is responsible for managing your IT Team?
9) Do you use any other SaaS (Software as a service) applications?
10) Who are your main software vendors?
11) Do you use Azure / Amazon Web Services or Office365?
12) Do you have a digital workplace strategy?

Dear Joanna Tsonou

Further to your request for information under the Freedom of Information
(Scotland) Act 2002 relating to the above I am now able to respond.

 

The following response was prepared and provided on behalf of IT:

 

1) Headcount of SBC Staff as at 19.09.2018 excluding casual staff and
elected members = 4145
2) The 2018/19 base budget for the Information Technology service, as per
the Financial Plan is £11,332k
3) This is part of our annual Microsoft licence there is no separate
budget specific for the intranet.
4) Sharepoint, since 2013.
5) Not for our intranet, but there are some of our schools that choose to
use wordpress.
6) Scottish Borders Council’s IT Partners CGI.
7) Scottish Borders Council’s IT Partners CGI.
8) Scottish Borders Council’s IT Management Team is currently managed by
Bill Edwards.
9) Yes we use hosted application software.
10) Scottish Borders Council use a number of Software companies across a
range of services.
11) We are currently inflight with a project to deliver office 365 to all
our staff.  We are not currently using Azure or amazon
12)There is no existing Digital Workplace Strategy.
