Dear Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy,

Dear Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy,

Under the FOI Act I require the following information

(3) I require the following for each of the contracts that these companies won or were selected for

(3.2) What process was followed to ensure that Value For Money was achieved in spending public money
(3.3) Whether any conflicts of interest were declared by any of your staff in relation to these contracts and the companies that bid for them

Dear FOI Requests,

Your response is factually inaccurate. You have copied and pasted my first request and your response to my first request and not responded to my second request. This is disappointing from employees of a Government Department who are paid to respond to FOI requests.

My second requestwas similar to the previous one but not the same for two important reasons:
First of all the date range only included the financial years 2016-17 and up to the end of November 2017 in the current financial year - 2017 to 18.

Secondly, the information is only required where the amount paid to the Contracting Company exceeds or is expected to exceed £1,000,000 (NOT £100,000 as previously requested).

I am therefore appealing against this inaccurate, unfair and unreasonable response and request that you respond accurately to my second request
If you do not feel that an appeal is appropriate then please advise by return and I will refer the matter to the Information Commissioner's Office

Yours sincerely,

Paul Smith
