MAITLAND-CULLEN, Patrick (NHS HEALTHCARE IMPROVEMENT SCOTLAND),

Dear Ms Wisniewska

Further to your freedom of information request received please find a
number of points below on which we'd be grateful for clarification or
comment:

1. We read the request as relating to financial year 2016/17.

2. Are you requesting the corporate IT budget, i.e. that for the
organisation overall?

3. Are you looking for a list of all IT systems that may have a role in
supporting and managing inspections ie CRM, Microsoft licences/software,
servers, hardware, phones, VPN tokens and so on? Most of these systems
support all corporate activities and not just inspections.

Are you instead looking for systems that are specific to inspection
activity?

4. We can provide current figures for inspectors employed, and possibly
snapshots at yearly intervals. Would this answer your question? How many
years do you seek information for? Are you looking for figures on staff
covering independent healthcare or the NHS, or both?

5. As inspections are based wholly on risk there is no set 'average'
number of inspection, if that is the implied approach. We can provide
information on numbers of inspections by financial year. How many years do
you seek information for?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Patrick Maitland-Cullen.

Dear MAITLAND-CULLEN, Patrick (NHS HEALTHCARE IMPROVEMENT SCOTLAND),

Please see the clarification responses to your questions:

2. Are you requesting the corporate IT budget, i.e. that for the
organisation overall?- yes please

3. Are you looking for a list of all IT systems that may have a role in
supporting and managing inspections ie CRM, Microsoft licences/software,
servers, hardware, phones, VPN tokens and so on? Most of these systems
support all corporate activities and not just inspections.- just software systems e.g.. Ms Office etc.

Are you instead looking for systems that are specific to inspection
activity?- yes, relating to managing inspection processes

4. We can provide current figures for inspectors employed, and possibly
snapshots at yearly intervals. Would this answer your question? - yes please, current number of inspectors is fine.
How many years do you seek information for?- just current or previous year
Are you looking for figures on staff covering independent healthcare or the NHS, or both?- ideally both

5. As inspections are based wholly on risk there is no set 'average'
number of inspection, if that is the implied approach. We can provide
information on numbers of inspections by financial year. How many years do
you seek information for?- last financial year is enough

Thank you in advance,

Yours sincerely,

Monika
