Isotetinoin use

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Boots UK Limited should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Boots UK Limited,

1. How many prescriptions were given out for oral isotretinoin in 2014 and in 2013 respectively?

2.I would also like to add a request for the average revenue
generated by the sale of oral isotretinoin each year in pound sterling?

Compliance with the request to provide this information should not
exceed the appropriate costs limit of £450 under section 12 of the
Freedom of information Act

I would prefer to receive this information electronically. If you
need any clarification then please contact me at the
email specified.

Under your section 16 duty to provide advice and assistance I would
expect you to contact me if you find this request unmanageable in
any way.

I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have
received this request, and I look forward to hearing from you in
the near future

Yours faithfully,

Still no response. Boots UK Ltd. are a private company so don't legally have to comply with FOIA requests. See

@Will Reid,

Boots are obliged to deal with requests under the Freedom of Information and Freedom of Information (Scotland) Acts in respect of their NHS contracted services. Their publication schemes are available on their website:

England/Wales/Northern Ireland:

From past experience, it is best to ask that such requests be passed to the Pharmacy Superintendent's office or similar, as this is the area of the business that would deal with the information which is in-scope (it is quite limited in the grand scheme of things).
