Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust did not have the information requested.

Dear Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust,

Please kindly supply me with the following data you may hold; under authority of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ('FOIA'), s.1, s.3, s.6 and s.8:

1. A full, accurate and complete list of records held by the trust office(s), and /or under the trust's authority, detailing the particular process or processes for isolating SARS-COV-2 (COVID19) virus directly taken from a symptomatic patient of COVID19 where a sample is not first combined with any other genetic material.

2. A current document or statement (provision of a link to relevant Trust website may be acceptable where data is held) detailing the requirements and conditions for testing COVID19 patients admitted to a Hospital within the trust, as at 25 November 2020.

3. In respect of both requests 1 and 2; please confirm and provide a full, accurate and complete record of recorded number of isolations of SARS-COV-2 virus completed on samples directly taken from symptomatic patients of COVID-19, that gave both positive and negative test result, through self testing kits and testing completed at trust units.

A timely response in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ('FOIA'), s.10 will be greatly appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Tapi

FOI BHT - Berkshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Sir

Further to your Freedom of information request.

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is committed to the Freedom of Information Act 2000. However, the NHS is facing unprecedented challenges relating to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic at the current time. Understandably, our resources have been diverted to support our front-line colleagues who are working tremendously hard to provide care for our patients, and to those in need of our services. The Information Commissioners Office also recognises the current situation in the NHS.

We strive to be transparent and to work with an open culture. But at this time, whilst care of our patients and the safety of our staff takes precedent, it is likely that responses to some requests for information will be delayed. Therefore, we would ask you to consider withdrawing your request and submitting it at a future date so our services can concentrate on pandemic planning and recovery.

Please advise if you would be willing to withdraw this FOI request.

I hope this simplifies the current process. Please let me have any thoughts on this.

Many thanks
Regards,
Sandra

Dear Sirs,

FAO Sandra Henderson, Executive Administrator for BHT, Corporate HQ

Your acknowledgment of this information request under FOIA is duly noted. I look forward to receiving the records mentioned in due course.

It is anticipated that the information requested will more likely than not have been central to and continue to be the focus of the NHS' efforts in directing proper resources to where they are needed, at this time of great uncertainty.

As a result of NHS' efforts to ensure the safety of its patients and staff takes precedent; the information in this FOI request is reasonably believed to be held by the NHS trust, as it directly relates to the isolating (identifiying through seperation of one genetic material from another, i.e. the coranvirus from other genetic material) COVID-SARS-2 virus in symptomatic patients. As such, fulfilling this FOI request should be regarded as being in aid of NHS efforts to ensure the safety of its staff and patients, ensuring public awareness on pandemic planning and recovery.

Availability and provision of the requested records, providing information requested relates to isolating (identifying) the virus in symptomatic patient samples (saliva swabs and blood) being tested, strikes at the heart of said efforts being made by NHS and may be deemed to be of public benefit in planning and recovery.

It is requested this FOI submission be fulfilled in timely manner, given testing and tracing is currently run by the NHS and is central to the aforementioned efforts and thus records, which should now be available, are considered to require minimal resources in fulfilling this current request for information.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Tapi

Dear Sirs,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's handling of my FOI request 'Isolation of the virus SARS-COV-2 (Coronavirus) - COVID19'.

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's prompt reply to FOI request made on the matter of COVID-19 testing is greatly welcomed. However, regarding request 3, the specific data on number of tests completed to isolate the SARS-CoV-2 virus in sample swab specimen(s) provided to test labs and held under authority of the trust has been omitted from the response provided. In addition, home testing kits referred to mistakenly as "self-testing" could easily have been rightfully interpreted in the response or a clarification request put forward by the trust FOI team handling this request. Please kindly review handling of request 3 under this FOI submission.

A full history of FOI request in queetion and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...

Yours faithfully,

Mr Tapi
