Is the Transformation Team on the Customer Journey project for Disabled People continuing its work or leaving ?

The request was partially successful.

Dear Greenwich Borough Council,

In spring 2019, members of the co-production working group who had been working with the Transformation Team on the Customer Journey and other transformation agenda items were informed that this project was ending and staff leaving or being reassigned.

Please confirm:
1.   Why this decision was made,
2.   Who is now continuing the Transformation Agenda work (e.g. whether the work has this been subsumed into other workers roles or whether external consultants have been used)
3.   What have the financial implications have been of the above (how much saving has been made or additional expense required)
4.   How the council is continuing to involve disabled people in co-production work and/or the transformation agenda.

Yours faithfully,

Eleanor Lisney

Dear Greenwich Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

You were supposed to give me an answer by 16th Jan. Its now over a week late!

Dear Ms Lisney

Freedom of Information request:  FOI-35256

Thank you for your request dated 16 December 2019.

Our response is as follows:

In spring 2019, members of the co-production working group who had been
working with the Transformation Team on the Customer Journey and other
transformation agenda items were informed that this project was ending and
staff leaving or being reassigned.

Please confirm:

1. Why this decision was made,

The decision to bring the Transformation Team to an end was because its
major piece of work – the Adult Customer Journey – had concluded.

2. Who is now continuing the Transformation Agenda work (e.g. whether the
work has this been subsumed into other workers roles or whether external
consultants have been used)

The Transformation programme ended.  The Council plans to implement a
cross-cutting Continuous Improvement model to respond to the challenges it
faces and external support will be used as required.

3. What have the financial implications have been of the above (how much
saving has been made or additional expense required)

The projected annual expenditure of the transformation team of £517,000 in
2019/20 will no longer be incurred.

4. How the council is continuing to involve disabled people in
co-production work and/or the transformation agenda.

The Service User Reference Group will continue and the Council will
continue the valuable engagement that officers and members have had with
disabled people during the consultation about Social Care Contributions.

If you have any queries about this correspondence, please contact me,
quoting the reference number above.

If you are not satisfied with our response to your request, you can ask
