Is it a Footpath or not a Footpath
Dear Carlisle City Council,
Could you tell me what is the purpose of the raised stones cobbles on the corner of the market place when all other areas of the market place are flat.
Is it a foot path or something else here is a photo.

was received on 07/12/2022. Your request has been handled under the terms
of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and has been given the reference

Your request for information has now been considered. Carlisle City
Council does not own the land concerned nor is responsible for Highways in
the area, therefore, we do not hold the information under section 1(1) of
the Freedom of Information Act. Our City Engineer has advised to redirect
your request to Cumbria County Council which is responsible for Highways
in the area. He also advised he thought the reddish raised block around
the edge forms a kerb, the dark coloured setts then seem to indicate a
footway and behind that the cobbles are the area where cars park, however,
this is just an opinion and the Highways team at Cumbria County Council
may be able to provide you with a definitive answer.
