Investigations into the alleged sharp or illegal selling practices by home improvement or mobility companies to the vulnerable

Oriel Hutchinson made this Freedom of Information request to Office of Fair Trading

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Office of Fair Trading,

Please tell me:

(a) how many investigations the OFT carried out into the alleged sharp or illegal selling practices of home or mobility improvement companies from 2008 to 2013?
(b) how many had notices served on them?
(c) whether the OFT had considered future regulating that audio recordings be made by the companies of all sales to the vulnerable?
(d) whether the OFT had considered regulating that the cooling off period be extended for "door step selling" to 30 days, instead of 1 week?

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours faithfully,
Oriel Hutchinson (Ms)
