Investigations into Alleged Wrongdoing at Glasgow University's Research and Enterprise

Dear Audit Scotland,

Please provide all and any documents you may have concerning persistent suggestions of serious malpractice in the above unit, and any investigations that have been carried out by Audit Scotland or by the Scottish Funding Council or at the Council's instigation. This refers to the period 2000 to present.

Please provide where these exist on any matter relating to the above, all documents you possess including, but not limited to:

Correspondence with the University of Glasgow;

Correspondence with the Scottish Funding Council;

Correspondence with any other relevant public body;

Documents detailing any allegations concerning misbehaviour by,or in, or in relation to, GU Research and Enterprise;

Any audits, reviews, memos, or other documents copies of which you hold, to or by any public body on any matter concerning allegations of misconduct by any person or persons, past or present, associated with GU Research and Enterprise;

Any findings, reports or investigation proceedings relating to the above, including documents produced by, or for, or in connection with, any internal or external investigatory body appointed either by the council, or Audit Scotland or by the University tasked to conduct any investigation on any matter whatsoever in relation to the above;

Any correspondence with or on behalf of any member or servant of the Scottish Government (unless covered by privilege) or any Member of the Scottish Parliament or Government Minister in relation to the above;

Any document whatsoever relating to any investigations by the police, or reports to the police,or any law officer, or law enforcement body, in relation to any matter whatsoever concerning the above named Research and Enterprise department or any successor departments or bodies;

Details known to the Council of any payments made, to any person whomsoever, whether in settlement of a dispute, or for severance, or for any other matter whatsoever, in relation to the above;

Details of any payments made by, or on behalf of Glasgow University, to sometime consultant/employee of GU Research and Enterprise,Mr William (Billy) Harkin, [potentially defamatory material removed], or to any of his associates, companies or agents in respect of any settlement of any action taken by him or by his business partner(s) (individually or collectively ) or on any other matter whatsoever ;

Any documents containing comment on the above, including in relation to Public Accountability, Public Interest, or the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee regulations on the 'paying off' (rather than prosecution, or defending civil litigation) in relation to claims made (vexatious or otherwise) ;

Documents relating any extraneous (non salary or due remuneration for services rendered) payments made (whether as a 'severance' payment or some-such) to former Director Dr Cathy Garner;

Documents in relation to similar for her successor Dr Kevin Cullen;
