Investigation into harassment of professor.

This request has been withdrawn by the person who made it. There may be an explanation in the correspondence below.

Dear University of Reading,

In an article published on 8th October in the Daily Telegraph - https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/10... -- it was reported that:
“Such is the concern among Reading University chiefs for the academic’s safety that they conducted a full security review, which included checking CCTV coverage ([Rosa Freedman] has been followed around campus) and installing an entry phone in her office so she can see who is knocking on her door. ”

Please could you give any information about the number and nature of complains made by Ms Freedman (and other academics) about behaviour of Trans Positive Campainers, any information if any individuals have been identified, if any individuals have been reported for criminal actions and what steps have been taken to improve the safety of specific academics following such complaints.

Yours faithfully,
Eloise Speight

Dear IMPS,

Referring again to the article in The Telegraph, it is stated that "She decided to speak out on the matter last summer" ... so I would suggest that in terms of time frame I would be interested in complains filed since Summer 2018 until present.

One particular incident she talked about on Twitter - https://twitter.com/GoonerProf/status/10... - on 5th December 2018 was that "this week" she had found her office door had been "urinated on" and reported being followed. She claims that she "discovered criminal damage explicitly encouraging me to leave the University because of my views that a woman is defined by law as biological not psychological"

The purpose for this request is to examine the veracity of her claims and reports.

In addition (and I'm unsure if this is something you are able to provide or if would be confidential) can you tell me if there have been press enquiries attempting to verify Ms Freedman's comments and complaints?

Thank you again

Yours sincerely,

Eloise Freya

Dear Ms Speight,
Thank you for your clarification regarding the timeframe of the request to "summer 2018", we have taken this as June 2018. I also note the additional question, this will be combined with your request which has been given the reference number IMPS#02592.
Apologies for the additional clarification request to follow below however, based on the description of the information requested we would like to advise that we do not record a complaint as being from a "Trans Positive Campainers", or other descriptor(s). This is considered as a descriptor provided to us by you and not information that we hold within a record of a complaint.
However, we could manually search our records for key words within the complaint which may be of assistance. For example, "number and nature of complaints from academics from June 2018 to present day containing the term 'trans positive' [or other]."
Please could you please advise us of what keyword you would like us to search for.
Your request is on hold pending receipt of this clarification.
Kind regards,
Sinead
