Inventoryof art, gifts, valulables in care / ownership of Leisure and Culture Dundee
Dear Leisure and Culture Dundee,
Q1. Inventory of all items in the possession/custodianship of art galleries Leisure and Culture Dundee [LCD} owns, has custodianship of, has in its possession.
Q2. Inventory of all items in the possession/custodianship of the LCD - for example including gifts from public entities or private people, items displayed in any art gallery, town hall, council-owned civic centre, etc.
Q3. Inventory of all items in the possession/custodianship of other entities owned by LCD.
I would hope that all such inventories of valuables are in the form of comprehensive electronic documents/spreadsheets, such as is the case with the list of property LCD owns/has possession of. In which case, supplying same will be simple, swift and not incurring any cost.
Where an inventory is not kept electronically, advise how such inventory is stored, how managed.
Q4. For all inventory please advise whether any item has been signed out/taken by Dundee councillors, staff, businesses, others or whether any inventory is missing or damaged.
Q5. For any inventory which is missing, please advise whether this has been reported to police, and whether any insurance claims have been lodged.
Q6. Advise how much money is spent on insurance for inventory by each location.
Q7. Advise for any items signed out at Q4 above, the length of time any item has been signed out/taken and the reason for such action.
Yours faithfully,
Suzanne Kelly

Dear Suzanne,
Please see the information below in response to your enquiry of 12^th
November,
Concerning your Collections / Collecting policy, please provide a link to
this.
Leisure & Culture Dundee’s Collections Development Policy is published
online, as required by Accreditation, and can be viewed under ‘Documents
and Policies’ on our website -
[1]http://www.leisureandculturedundee.com/w...
Can I please see the database you have created - either now or when it is
complete thank you.
We are unable to provide access to the full collections management system
to members of public. In addition, even with a more complete dataset, the
volume of information requested in this instance would require significant
staff time to retrieve and compile.
Work on our collections online catalogue is ongoing and data will start
going live in the new year. Records will be published incrementally,
providing a gradually increasing access to catalogue information on the
objects in the City’s collections.
Yours Sincerely,
Billy Gartley
