Introduction of new automated announcements onboard your trains recently.

Dear ScotRail Trains Limited,

I am writing to you under the Freedom Of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) laws and regulations.

At some point in the past couple of days you have begun replacing Fletcher Mathers and changing your onboard automated announcements onboard your trains to a completely new voice.

I wish to ask the following questions regarding to this matter:

• Is this new voice a new voiceover artist or a new text to speech voice. If it is a new voiceover artist then please provide the new of the voiceover artist or if it is a new text to speech voice then please provide the name of this text to speech voice.

• Why did you decide to replace Fletcher Mathers with this new voice. Please provide all information that you hold on why this decision was made.

• Can you please attach all documents and emails that you hold relating to this change. This should also include things such a staff briefing documents about this change if any such have been created.

• Do you plan to replace Fletcher Mathers and roll out this new voice on your entire fleet of trains. Can you please provide details on which trains and classes have been replaced so far and a timeframe for all of the other trains and classes to get their announcements replaced.

• Could you please attach all of the sound files of these new automated announcements. Any format that you hold such as .mp3 or .wav is fine with me.
