Interview grade descriptors for Mathematics, Computer Science, and Joint Schools
Dear University of Oxford,
I am writing to request the specific grade descriptors for undergraduate admission interviews for Mathematics, Computer Science, and Joint Schools.
From another FOI request made earlier, I saw that on the post-interview report form for candidates applying to Mathematics, Computer Science, and Joint Schools, there are five criteria, each marked from 1 low to 9 high, they are:
1. Technical (ability to manipulate mathematics, independently apply known techniques)
2. Reasoning (clarity of logical argument, ability to argue independently)
3. Capacity to generate new ideas and adapt known techniques
4. Capacity to absorb new ideas and techniques
5. Motivation and enthusiasm
In that FOI request, it was also pointed out that there is a grade descriptor for each criterion for each mark from 1 to 9, although the grade descriptor was not attached in the request.
Hence, in this FOI request, I wish to request this grade descriptor for each criteria, for each mark.
I am aware that the most recent version of the descriptors may not be available as the interviews have only just taken place this year. But please send the latest version of the grade descriptors that can be disclosed.
Yours sincerely,
Camille Johnson
