Dear Northumberland County Council,

NCC International Department Launch Event
House of Lords June 11th 2018

Dear Sir,

From various press articles and photographic media I am aware that the above named event was attended by the following elected members and officers of Northumberland County Council, Councillor Jackson, Councillor Dodd, Councillor Homer, Councillor Jones and Councillor Wearmouth, Officers of Council Mrs Lally and Mrs Joynson.

We are aware from enquiries that the Northumbria NHS Foundation Trust and Rong Quia Healthcare did not pay towards the costs for Councillors and Staff named above:

Can you please furnish me with the following information?:

The total cost of the whole event held in the House of Lords on June 11th 2018?

Northumberland County Council’s share of the total cost of the event?

The cost of travel for the above group of people itemised out by name?

The cost of hotel provision for the above group of people itemised out by name?

The cost of wining and dining outside the event itemised out by name?

The cost of expenses paid to each Councillor and Officer named above?

A copy of the House of Lords wine list and the bill for catering at the event including the cost of and number of bottles of wine served at the event?

Yours faithfully,
Bill

Please note that we are only able to provide the information that we have
been able to source. There may be information that is missing from this

Q.1 The total cost of the whole event held in the House of Lords on June
11th 2018?

A1: The total cost was £10,366.25.

Q.2 Northumberland County Council’s share of the total cost of the event?

A2: £4,900.00 of which was paid by the Members office (roughly 50%).

Q.3 The cost of travel for the above group of people itemised out by
name?

A3: The total amount of expenses claimed from this date was £774.39, which

We are unfortunately unable to break this down further to establish who
claimed what amount.

Q.4 The cost of hotel provision for the above group of people itemised out
by name?

A4: No councillors stayed overnight.

Q.5 The cost of wining and dining outside the event itemised out by name?

incurred.

A6: We are unable to confirm the exact amount paid to each Councillor and
Officer. However, we can confirm that no petty cash was claimed.

Q.7 A copy of the House of Lords wine list and the bill for catering at
the event including the cost of and number of bottles of wine served at
the event?

A7: We believe the catering bill totalled £5600, but we are unable to

this accounts for any wine served at the event. Per NCC code of conduct
policies, alcohol is not to be consumed during the working day.
