The request was successful.

Dear University of Brighton,

Under the Freedom Information Act, please could I request data relating to both 2020 and 2021 application cycles to Medicine (A100) please?

1) How many international applicants applied for the undergraduate medicine course?
2) How many international applicants were offered an interview?
3) How many international applicants were successful in receiving an offer?
4) What was the UCAT threshold for international applicants in 2020 and 2021 cycles?
5) Could a breakdown of Countries represented throughout international applications be shared please?

Kindest Regards

Yours faithfully,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act request; please find the
information requested below:

2020 and 2021 application cycles to Medicine (A100)

 1. How many international applicants applied for the undergraduate
medicine course?

2020/21: 371      2021/22: 325

 2. How many international applicants were offered an interview?

 4. What was the UCAT threshold for international applicants in 2020 and
2021 cycles?

BSMS does not use UCAT, but BMAT: international thresholds are

2020/21: 18.3    2021/22: 19.5

 5. Could a breakdown of Countries represented throughout international
applications be shared please?

Unfortunately, figures are so low per country that this data would make
individuals identifiable. This information is therefore exempt under
section 40 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act.

Should you wish to seek a review of this response to your request, please
write to Mr Andrew Wilson, Deputy Secretary via [1][University of Brighton request email]. If
this fails to resolve the matter then you have the right to apply to
[2]the Information Commissioner for a decision.

With kind regards

Katie
