Dear Health and Safety Executive,

Thank you for your response.

Am I correct in my reading of your response that the only interaction between the HSE and CAA in relation to the safety of airline passengers and crew are the annual face to face meetings and occasional phone calls to discuss health and safety matters as and when necessary?

Does this mean that since 2014 the HSE has not been involved in any investigations, on its own or in conjunction with the CAA, in relation to incidents concerning the safety of airline passengers and crew?

Yours faithfully,

Charles Bass

Health and Safety Executive

Hello Mr Bass

Thank you for the further questions below concerning the above FOI
request.

Am I correct in my reading of your response  that the only interaction
between the HSE and CAA in relation to the safety of airline passengers
and crew are the annual face to face meetings and occasional phone calls
to discuss health and safety matters as and when necessary?

Does this mean that since 2014 the HSE has not  been involved in any
investigations, on its own or in conjunction with the CAA, in relation to
incidents concerning the safety of airline passengers and crew?

HSE’s response to your questions is as follows:

Further investigation has found 4 events that were reported to and
investigated by the HSE in relation to incidents concerning the safety of
airline passengers since 2014. There are no details on whether the CAA
were involved, however, these incidents did not occur within the aircraft
and were not related to events within the aircraft.

Thanks

Peter
