Hi Ben
The Trust response to your recent FOI request is as follows for Electronic
Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA):
1. Does your organisation have an Open Source Strategy? LCFT utilises both
open source and commercial products as appropriate and the determination
on whether to utilise open source or commercial products is based upon the
functionality requirements of the system in question.
2. What Software and Technologies did you choose for your Integrated
Digital Care Technology Fund funded projects? LCFT chose the
EMIS EPMA product for this project. The system is provide by a third
party, EMIS, and is based on a Microsoft SQL database and a .Net
Framework.
3. Is the software and technology you have used for your project an
Open Source Product? No
4. Does the software / technology interface with another system? If so is
the interface based on Open Standards / Open APIs? Yes, the system is
interfaced with a patient record database but this is not open source or
based upon open standards and was a bespoke development.
If you are unhappy with the way the Trust has handled your request, you
may ask for an internal review by contacting the FOI Lead at

outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to
