Integrated Dataset: children and young people (Bristol)
Dear Bristol City Council,
with regards to the information provided in the FOI request number CRN00202087 with regards to integrated datasets as of December 2018:
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...
1. There are 11843 individuals under 18 are in the dataset today,
2. There are 12772 individuals who were under 18 at the time of their addition to the
dataset but are now over 18.
3. The data sources which feed into the integrated dataset (*) include Case management systems for Children’s Social Care, Adult Social Care, Education, Early Years and Early Help services. The Data controller is Bristol City Council.
4. You confirmed that data are transferred from schools systems to local authority via secure electronic data transfer, daily and overnight.
Pursuant to answer 4, please can you provide these information:
a) a list of the data items by individual item, that may be included in the daily transfer -- and confirm whether these are standard for everyone, in each daily transfer, or whether each request is individual or only of updated items?
b) the decision selection criteria for which individuals are extracted and added to the database. (if all children, then please confirm simply *all* and which age range -- if you can provide how that selection decision is made (by risk criteria / alogithm / case manager etc) would be helpful, but if those information are not available then please reply with what the information which is.)
c) that new receiving database's name (BCC controlled)
d) from the earliest date that the data were transfered (ie to determine when this began for what age of children).
Many thanks for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Jen Persson

Dear "Customer Relations Team" <[email address]>,
Re Freedom of Information request on 25/02/2019
Request number CRN00214969
Thank you for the reply, but as discussed for a) we would like to clarify and ask again for the information in question 1.
You replied, "the list of fields transferred and the database logic is controlled by the provider of the service and those that are available on the school system."
We would like to have a comprehensive list of the data items -- set out by individual item, that may be included in the daily transfer -- and confirm whether these are standard for everyone, in each daily transfer?
ie: The possible transfer data includes: "first name, last name, DOB, home address fields, ethnicity" and please state each field separately.
For each child, all data are transfered daily, and include every field for which data exist.
Many thanks.
Sincerely,
Jen Persson
