Lisa Harrington, Woking Borough Council

Dear Mr Basquiat,

Could you please clarify what information you want from questions 8 and 8a?

For question 8 you have said:
8. What was the value of Personal Injury claims against your authority's public liability insurance policies in the financial years ending March 2014 and March 2015?

Do you mean claims received in those two financial years or claims paid?

For question 8a you have said:
a. Further and separate to Q8 above, please provide a breakdown in the last 2 years, per year:
i. Personal Injury Claims settled pre litigation and their value
ii. Personal Injury claims settled after commencement of litigation and value
iii. Value of Personal Injury claims lost

We do not understand the difference between questions ii and iii, as if a claim is settled, do you not consider that to be a claim "lost"? Could you pleae clarify?

Dear Lisa Harrington,

Thank you for your response. As requested, please see clarification to question 8 below.

In Question 8 I would like to understand what was the total value of Personal Injury claims made against your Authority’s insurance policies in the financial year ending March 2014 and March 2015. (8)

The breakdown in the last 2 years per year should state (i.e. April 2013-March 2014 and April 2014 – March 2015) (8a)

-the number and value of Personal Injury claims settled before any legal proceedings are brought (8i)
-the number and value of Personal Injury claims settled out of court after a claim is brought (8ii)
-the number and value of Personal Injury claims lost at court (after a claim is brought)(8iii)

I hope this helps.

Yours sincerely,

Sudhir Basquiat
