The request was successful.

Dear Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council,

Can you please provide me with the following information.

Have you treated any of your housing stock with external wall
insulation?

Which streets or estates have you completed the insulation
programme on and what has been the cost to date?

Have you got any future over-render/insulating projects planned and
what budget have you allocated for this?

Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr May,

I am emailing in reference to your recent Freedom of Information request
regarding the treatment of the housing stock with external wall
insulation. For ease of clarity and reading I have listed your questions
and provided the response in blue as detailed below:

Have you treated any of your housing stock with external wall insulation?

We have externally insulated a number of  properties, the work has largely
been focussed on our high rise stock but we have undertaken work to solid
wall houses in the past 12 months.

Which streets or estates have you completed the insulation programme on
and what has been the cost to date?

We have now completed refurbishment of 20 high rise blocks which included
external insulation. We have also externally insulated 105 low rise
properties in the Bilston Road area Of Wednesbury. The average cost per
property is circa £8,000.

Have you got any future over-render/insulating projects planned and what
budget have you allocated for this?

We plan to continue with the refurbishment of our high rise stock, 4 of
which are currently on site and a further 3 are imminent. We also have a
number of other projects focussed on our low rise flats and houses where
cavity wall insulation is not possible. This work will be supported by the
budgets as set out in the report to cabinet 21 November 2013 which shows
in 2014/15 there is an allocation of over £13m for high rise and £3.5m for
energy efficiency measures.
