Initial Consultation for the MUGA on Central Hill

Sabine Mairey made this Freedom of Information request to Lambeth Borough Council This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

Waiting for an internal review by Lambeth Borough Council of their handling of this request.

Dear Lambeth Borough Council,

Please could you direct me to the initial consultation on the MUGA on Central Hill Estate that led to the decision of high fences around a section of the area? Was this suggested by a resident or the council? When was this put to the residents? Why is an open-plan design not being offered as choice to all the residents on Central Hill?

Yours faithfully,

Sabine Mairey

Dear Lambeth Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...
I am writing to request an internal review of Lambeth Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Initial Consultation for the MUGA on Central Hill'.

Thank you for this. In the response, you say, 'The council adopted four methods of consultation with the residents to maximise feedback. This included an in-person drop-in session with the young residents in collaboration with the Rathbone Youth Hub and a further all-resident session in the Resource Centre, leaflets to all properties, an online consultation on the council’s website for one month and two days of door-knocking for residents unable to make the sessions.'

This implies a robust consultation process, when both the children and adults were actually given two options that both included a fenced off area, a static table and seating. To clarify, please can you confirm the following:

a) That the only design options, after the initial brainstorming session, presented to the users of the Rathbone Society, made up of both residents and young people from off the estate, had fences in?

b) The residents were informed on the 29th November of a drop in on the 2nd December?

c) That this information was on the third page of a three-sided, lengthy letter?

d) That the resident drop-in on the 2nd December, the door knocking and the online consultation only included high fences?

e) No options of an open-plan concept was presented to any of the members of the community?

f) That the door knockers actually interviewed people on the street and the Day Care Centre who did not live on the estate and had never used the facility as well residents?

g) No question actually asked respondents if they lived on the estate?

Yours faithfully,

Sabine Mairey
