Initial Child Protection Conferences

Gareth Davies made this Freedom of Information request to Bracknell Forest Borough Council as part of a batch sent to 10 authorities

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

The request was refused by Bracknell Forest Borough Council.

Good morning,

I would like to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

My request relates to Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC) conducted in 2020.

For each ICPC I would like to know:

1) Was a child protection plan required? (YES or NO)
2) Was the decision taken by the Conference Chair exercising his or her decision-making powers (i.e. because a consensus or majority could not be found among the professionals in attendance)? (YES or NO)
3) Did any agency disagree with the decision made at the ICPC? (YES or NO)
4) If the answer to (3) is NO, which agency disagreed with the decision?
A) Police
B) Social Care
C) School
D) Health
E) Other

I would like to receive the information electronically in a spreadsheet.

If the decision is made to withhold some of this information using exemptions in the Act, please inform me of that fact and cite the exemptions used.

If you need clarification please contact me at this email address. Under your section 16 duty to provide advice and assistance I would expect you to contact me if you find this request unmanageable in any way before the 20th working day.

I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request, and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Thank you for your time,

Gareth Davies

Dear Bracknell Forest Borough Council,

Please note in relation to the FOI request 'Initial Child Protection Conferences' Question 4 should read 'Yes' instead of 'No'.

Yours faithfully,

Gareth Davies

Information Compliance-Officer, Bracknell Forest Borough Council

Dear Gareth Davies

Thank you for your request for information, below, which was received by the Council 25/01/2022() and we will answer your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The FOI Act obliges us to respond to requests promptly, and in any case no later than 20 working days (by 22/02/2022) unless it is necessary to consider the public interest, in which case a full response must be provided within such a time as is reasonable in the circumstances and I will write to you again if this occurs.

The Council is fully utilising its facilities in order to complete all freedom information requests and subject access requests within the statutory time scale. However, whilst we are making every effort to fulfil every request, it is acknowledged both by the Council and the ICO that sometimes other pressures will have to take priority during this difficult time and people may experience unavoidable delays to their FOI and SAR response times. We thank you for your patience in this challenging time.

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future correspondence.

Yours sincerely

I am instructed that the cost of complying with your request would exceed
