Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

I am writing to ask for the following information if possible. If a person who is in receipt of income support receives an inheritance of £18,000 which would take them over the limit for savings allowed. If they where to purchase a badly needed car straight away. Which would then take them to approximately £15,000 would this be classed as deprivation of capital or would it be acceptable and the income support be adjusted accordingly to reduce the payments.

Yours faithfully,

Tracey Mills
