Dear Ben

I refer to your Freedom of Information request to which I am now in a
position to respond on behalf of South Norfolk Council.  My response is
outlined below along with your questions for ease of reference.

1.    Please can you direct me to the authority's current ICT strategy?

This is attached.

2.    What does the council currently use for their on-prem Backup?

Commvault, moving to Rubrik.

3.    When is the council looking to review this?

Review carried out 2021, new service on line 1 April 2022.

4.    When reviewing, what does the council consider most important?

Please see our procurement policies on our website - [1]Procurement and
doing business with the council – Broadland and South Norfolk
(southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk)

5.    How would you recover in the event of a cyber-attack?

Under section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am
advising you that the Council does hold the information you have
requested.  However, I consider that the information is exempt under
section 31 (1) (a) of the Freedom of Information Act, in that disclosure
of the information would or would likely to prejudice the detection or
prevention of crime. I consider that the release of this information would
compromise the security of the council’s IT system. This exemption is
subject to the public interest test, however I do not consider there is
any reason why disclosure in this case should outweigh the public interest
in withholding the information and maintaining the security of the IT
system. In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 this email
acts as a Public Interest Refusal Notice.   In terms of the exemption, you
have a right of appeal against our decision. In the first instance this
appeal must be internal and we enclose a copy of our guidance regarding
how to request an internal review. We hope that you will not feel it
necessary to invoke an appeal, but if you do we will take every care to
re-assess your request and let you have our findings.

Please quote SFOI 22-140 in any further correspondence concerning this
request.

Regards

Sue
