FOI, Nottinghamshire County Council

Dear Ms Filler,

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information Request.

I am now able to provide you with the information supplied by the relevant
Department, as follows:

The answer to Q1,Q2,Q4, Q5 and Q8 are the same, in that the Highway Asset
Management System used in Nottinghamshire is Confirm supplied by Pitney
Bowes and has been used since 2008. We own the application but pay an
annual service charge which includes updates and service support. The
application and data is locally hosted and the license we use are the
Enterprise version so we can make maximum use of the software. The annual
maintenance cost varies but is in the region of £70-£80k but as we expand
the use the system this may increase depending on licensee use. The
contract was initially tendered with an extension period built in, this
was then retendered on similar arrangements but including the Enterprise
provision and we are now in the extension period of this contract. It is
unlikely that we will move away from this product in the short term given
its use across the highway service and its embedment in day to day
activities. The Highway Asset and Development team in Via East Midlands
Ltd manage and maintain the HAMS and the contact is either Don Fitch (Team
Manager) or Ian Patchett (Highway Asset Manager).

Q3. What computer software are you using for Flood Risk, how much are you
paying per year, how many users are you licensed for and when is the
contract due to expire and what format will the procurement process take?
Who within the council is responsible for this contract?

No bespoke software, just generic NCC products.  Certain data is stored in
HAMS (as above) whilst other records are maintained in local data bases.
Data is mapped using MapInfo, the GIS tool used across the County Council
and Via East Midlands Ltd.

Q6. What computer software are you using for Public Rights of Way, how
much are you paying per year, how many users are you licensed for, and
when is the contract due to expire and what format will the procurement
process take? Who within the council is responsible for this contract?

CAMs by Exegesis, £5,500 per year, annual maintenance renewal, up to 12
users, no plans to change, Neil Lewis (Countryside Access Team Manager,
Nottinghamshire County Council).

Q7. What computer software are you using for Parks and Open Spaces, how
much are you paying per year, and when is the contract due to expire and
what format will the procurement process take? Who within the council is
responsible for this contract?

Country Parks are commissioned out we don’t have a system.  Open spaces
fall under the District and Borough Councils

I hope this now satisfies your request, and should you have any further
enquiries please do not hesitate to contact me directly on the details
