Academy, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

information is intended for publication at a future date).
The publication details are set out in the table below.

The exemption under section 22 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 is a

consideration to that test. In particular, staff time would need to spent
on the matter in order to accelerate publication. However, the intended
date for publication is in the near future in any event. In light of this,
our decision is that we are entitled to rely on the exemption.
If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the

submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response.
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have

Dear Enquiries @ Bright Tribe,
I'm writing to request an internal review of Bright Tribe's handling of my Freedom of Information request for information relating to Whitehaven Academy exam results 2017.
I would like to make the following points:-
1) Your reply states information is "intended for release" but you give no indication of release date.
2) You have assumed I will be attending the Parent Forum where the information will be available.
3) The information you say has already been released (ie through the press) is not specifically broken down as I have requested.
Taking the above into account and for the avoidance of doubt, I would like all the information as per my original request of 5th September to be in the same format as the Freedom of Information request submitted by Cllr Laine on 15th September 2016, substituting 2016 data for 2017's, details of which are as follows:-
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/2...
If you foresee a delay in me receiving this information due to "intended release" dates to the public domain, please let me know.
Yours sincerely,
Leanne Wilson
Dear Mrs Wilson,
Further to your request for a review of our response, we have now
conducted such a review and our original decision has been upheld.
We will address each of the points raised in your review request as
follows:
1. You referred to the fact that our initial response gave no
indication of a release date. In our initial response we referred to
certain information being intended for release at the next Parents’ Forum
meeting. We can confirm that the date for the next Parents’ Forum meeting
is Tuesday 10th October.
2. You commented that we have assumed that you will be
attending the Parents’ Forum. This is not the case. We advised in our
initial response that, where we refer to information being intended for
publication at the next Parents’ Forum meeting, hard copies will be
available at that meeting and information will subsequently be posted on
the school’s website. If you are not in attendance at the meeting, the
information will therefore still be available to you.
3. You also commented that the information we say has already
been released is not specifically broken down in the ways you have
requested. This is in relation to your request that data regarding exam
results should include totals for each of the subjects taught. We can
confirm that the data will be broken down in that way when it is produced
at next week’s meeting.
We therefore maintain that the information is exempt from disclosure, for
the reasons explained in our initial response, under Section 21 of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 (because the information is accessible to
you, as it is already in the public domain) and/or under section 22 of the
FOIA (because the information is intended for publication at a future
date).
We trust that our response addresses your concerns. However, if you are
not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to
apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. The
Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information Commissioner's
Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Kind regards,
Bright Tribe Trust

Dear Mrs Wilson,
In our email of earlier today, at point 3, we referred to “next week’s
meeting”. You may have noted that this reference should in fact be to the
meeting taking place tomorrow (10^th October). We therefore apologise for
any confusion caused.

Dear Mrs Wilson,
Further to your compliant to the ICO regarding your request for
information about the GSCE results for 2017, I attach an updated file
which now includes the results for English and Math’s subjects.
In relation to your question about children leaving Whitehaven Academy
“does not seem to have been answered correctly and the figures are at
odds” we are unclear as to the reason for your complaint. We have however
rechecked our information and can confirm that the data provided is
correct. If you have any specific questions please do let us know so we
can investigate fully for you.

Dear Enquiries BTT,
Thank you for the maths and English results. However the question regarding children leaving the school has still not been answered correctly. The numbers of children leaving just don’t add up for example the first one says 720 left - there wasn’t 720 in the school to leave! Please can you look at the figures and reply accordingly.
Thanks
Yours sincerely,
Leanne Wilson
Dear Enquiries BTT,
Having looked further at the maths and English GCSE results they don’t add up either. Surely there were more than 22 that took maths and English. Please can you look at these results again and confirm how many students took GCSE maths and English in the summer of 2017 and what the results were from 9-1.
Thank you
Yours sincerely,
Leanne Wilson
Dear Mrs Wilson,
In relation to your email on the 29^th March, that “The numbers of
children leaving just don’t add up for example the first one says 720 left
- there wasn’t 720 in the school to leave!”
Please see below the table that was sent to you.
How many pupils who attended in years 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 (2016/17) have left
Whitehaven Academy to follow education elsewhere for year 2017/18.
Left at the end of 2016/2017
Year 7 Year 8 Year 9 Year 10 Year 11
Transferred to UTC. 7 20
Transferred to West Lakes Academy. 1
Transferred to Workington Academy. 1
Transferred to PRU. 2 1
Moved out of county 1 2
Moved within county 1
Home Educated 1
Total 5 9 21 2 0
Having reviewed the figures again, there is not figure that refers to 720
pupils leaving.
If you have any further questions please let us know.
Yours Sincerely

Dear Enquiries BTT,
Thank you for your reply. I can only assume that your information relating to numbers of children leaving the school is a spreadsheet that is not transferring correctly but I have managed to translate it myself.
I also requested on the 29th March 2018 further clarification relating to the results provided for Maths and English and this has NOT BEEN CLARIFIED. The query was as follows:-
‘Having looked further at the maths and English GCSE results they don’t add up either. Surely there were more than 22 that took maths and English. Please can you look at these results again and confirm how many students took GCSE maths and English in the summer of 2017 and what the results were from 9-1.’
Please can you supply this information as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely,
Leanne Wilson
