Information Relating To Ecological Vandalism
Dear Stockton on Tees Council,
I noted that about two or three weeks back some vans and trailers were parked up at mill meadow court in norton.
On inspection it appears they have cut down up to a mile of vegetation in an unused wild area behind steel fencing all along the cycle path, but not on the cycle path side.
This stretch is used by families and dog walkers for bramble picking and the vegetation also supports rare butterfly species such as Comma,Orange Tip and Small Tortoiseshell.
I wish to know the reason for this seemingly purposeless act, with a mile long strip of greenbelt about 12ft wide just razed to the ground seemingly just because it was there and 'for something to do'
This does not look good given environmental concerns nationally and whilst footpaths are being neglected, time is being wasted destroying greenery such as this which isnt even where public walk.
Please explain why this ecological vandalism has happened
Yours faithfully,
Craig smith
