Information regarding the closure of Cycle Superhighway 3

The request was successful.

Dear The Royal Parks,

These questions relate to the closure of Cycle Superhighway 3 in Green Park and St. James's Park due to preparations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Please could you provide the following information:

Why was the decision made to close this section of cycleway?

What alternative options were considered? Were these just diversionary routes or other temporary infrastructure?

Cycle Superhighway 3 is the only safe cycle route east to west in the area. Was there any consideration of any safety issues a long term closure such as this could cause?

Were Transport for London notifed about this closure in advance? If so, when were they notified? If possible please include any correspondance between the Royal Parks, and TfL, regarding this closure.

Kind regards,
James Gower
