Dear University of the Highlands and Islands,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of University of the Highlands and Islands's handling of my FOI request 'Information regarding student placements'.

I have not received any of the documents noted in your response. Maybe you have forgotten to attach them?

Q; Please could you provide me with the documentation that is used for the approval and monitoring of student placements, including any contracts/learning agreements/risk assessments/insurance responsibilities/ reporting of progress/reporting of problems/feedback etc. used.
A: Please see policy and guidance provided above.

These documents are not provided within the guide you provided at https://staffresources.uhi.ac.uk/SPT/pdf...

The guide refers to Monitoring, recording and reporting processes and I was looking for documentation which supports this, perhaps blank proformas?

Q Please could you provide me with any approval, monitoring /evaluation reports, and annual reviews for the last 5 years regarding student placements in the Applies Life Studies subject network.
A: There are no monitoring or evaluation reports specific to placements. However, Programme and Subject Network Self Evaluation Documents are submitted annually, and every 5 years the SN has a QAA review, which may include reference to placements if there was an issue.

In the guide you provided at https://staffresources.uhi.ac.uk/SPT/pdf...
it specifically states:
"Monitoring should be summarised in a report and be submitted annually to QAEC. This should include the following information:
1. Student numbers and achievement (if applicable);
2. Feedback from all stakeholders;
3. Reflection on any changes introduced in placement management, together with comments on any proposed changes to improve placement activity in future years; and
4. Any other comments, including key points summarising any aspects of good practice in placement activity that were considered to be particularly effective"

It is these reports I am looking for (with personal student information redacted as necessary). If these reports are as I think you implied included within other reports which you meant to attach, please provide them. Please note I asked for these reports for the last 5 years, not only 18/19.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...

Yours faithfully,

S A Smith
