Dear Airedale NHS Foundation Trust,

I would like to request information for the below questions.

Q1. Does your trust treat myelofibrosis? If not, which other trust do you refer these patients to?

Q2.

A) Please provide the total number of patients treated in the last 6 months (or the latest 6 months data you have available) for myelofibrosis (ICD10 code D47.4).

b) How many of these patients were above age 65?

Q3. How many myelofibrosis patients were treated in the past 6 months with Ruxolitinib?

Q4.

A) How many myelofibrosis (ICD10 code D47.4) patients has your trust diagnosed in the past 3 years?

b) Of these patients, how many were treated in the past 6 months (or the latest 6 months data you have available) with:

• Hydroxyurea
• Fedratinib
• Received No Treatment

Q5. Does your trust participate in any clinical trials for the treatment of myelofibrosis? If so, can you please provide the name of each trial along with the number of patients taking part.

Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions and I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Ben Holdsworth

FOI (AIREDALE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST), Airedale NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Mr Holdsworth

Thank you for your request for information from Airedale NHS Foundation Trust which was received on 01/04/2022. Your request has been given the Reference Number ANHSFT REF 5683.

We will now proceed to process the request. The deadline date for issuing you with a full response is 21/04/2022. We will try to respond to you before this date and we will contact you if we envisage delays or if we need more information from you.

Please note that under the Freedom of Information Act, some information can be subject to exemptions, which means that the Trust does not have to provide the information requested. Some exemptions are “absolute” such as personal information and some only apply where the “public interest” in maintaining the exemption, outweighs that of providing the information.

In some cases, where identifying, retrieving and processing the requested information requires more time than the “appropriate cost limit” of two and half days work, we may refuse the request or we can charge a fee. If the latter is the case, I will let you know and a Fees Notice will be issued to you. In that case you would need to pay the fee before we proceeded with your request, but we will offer assistance and advise you if, by modifying your request, we could provide you with some non-exempt or free of charge information.

Please contact me, quoting the Reference Number above, with any questions you might have about your request.

With kind regards

Dear Mr Holdsworth

Further to your application to access information under the Freedom of
Information Act (ANHSFT REF. 5683) please find our response below.   The
numbers of relevant patients is very small and therefore I have presented
the answer to Q2a, 2b and Q3 as “less than 5 patients”.  We felt that
there was a risk that the patients could be identified as the diagnosis is
very rare at this Trust. The information has been exempted from disclosure
under S40(2) of the FOI Act which protects personal and sensitive personal
data which would breach of the Data Protection Act if disclosed.

Q1. Does your trust treat myelofibrosis? If not, which other trust do you
refer these patients to? yes

Q2.

A) Please provide the total number of patients treated in the last 6
months (or the latest 6 months data you have available) for myelofibrosis
(ICD10 code D47.4).   Less than 5 patients

b) How many of these patients were above age 65? Less than 5 patients

Q3. How many myelofibrosis patients were treated in the past 6 months with
Ruxolitinib? Less than 5 patients

Q4.

A) How many myelofibrosis (ICD10 code D47.4) patients has your trust
diagnosed in the past 3 years? 8

b) Of these patients, how many were treated in the past 6 months (or the
latest 6 months data you have available) with:

•       Hydroxyurea None

•       Fedratinib None

•       Received No Treatment None

Q5. Does your trust participate in any clinical trials for the treatment
of myelofibrosis?  If so, can you please provide the name of each trial
along with the number of patients taking part. No we don't participate in
trials for this condition

We trust you find our response helpful.  If you feel we are not complying
with our publication scheme, you feel your request has not been properly
handled, or you are dissatisfied, you can write within 40 working days to
