Information regarding Housing Benefit claim numbers and amounts

The request was partially successful.

Dear Bath and North East Somerset Council,

I would like to recieve the following information:

1. Number of active Housing Benefit Claims on the first Monday of
April each year for as far back as your records allow.
2. Number of active Housing Benefit Claims on the first Monday of
April each year where either (or both of) the Claimant or their
Partner is recorded as having had "Earned Income" on that date, for
as far back as your records allow.
3. The Total amount of Housing Benefit paid for the week starting
on the first Monday of April each year for as far back as your
records allow.

on the first Monday of April each year where either (or both of)
the Claimant or their Partner is recorded as having had "Earned

Self Employment to be "Earned Income"

Dear Bath and North East Somerset Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Bath and North East Somerset Council's handling of my FOI request 'Information regarding Housing Benefit claim numbers and amounts'.

As the information will be held in a database, underlying your system, it should not require staff to individually check each claim, it should be a case of writing a relatively simple query that checks the database automatically.

If you let me know what Benefit assessment software you use, I will try to point you to another council that use the same software who have managed to comply with my request, who will be able to assist you.

As such I would request a review of my request.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

Mr J Chandler
