information to a public authority is entitled.

(a) to be informed in writing by the public authority whether it holds
information of the description specified in the request (which Section
1(6) of the Act designates as the "duty to confirm or deny"), and

(b) if that is the case, to have that information communicated to him.

The right is to obtain access to the information itself and not to the

The Act creates a general right of access to information held by public
authorities subject to various exemptions.

Northumberland County Council confirms that it holds the information you
have requested, please see the following information in response.

Q.1 How many residents at this home are there in total

Q.2 How many are having their care home fees met by public expense

A1 & A2. Holywell House has 47 beds, of which 45 were occupied as of 21
March.  At that date, 8 were privately funded and 37 funded by the LA.

Q.3 What rate are Northumberland County Council paying for these residents
care home fees

A3. The LA residential fee being paid for residents in this home in March
is £653.09 and the LA dementia fee is £704.41.  Both are the standard fees
paid under the Council’s contract for care homes with older people which
are rated “good” by CQC and have not signed up to the Council’s wage
support scheme.  The fees paid in March include a temporary uplift to fee
levels paid to all care homes on the Council contract to take account of
short-term financial pressures such as high energy costs.
