Information on what MIS provider was used to return Independent Census Spring 2019
Dear Department for Education,
I am looking for a spreadsheet which shows which MIS provider was used by Independent schools to return their Summer 2019 (or Autumn 2019) Census.
I have found previous requests but they only seem to contain non-independent schools.
Required DFES number, name of school and MIS provider
Yours faithfully,
Rachel Moffat

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Independent schools do not complete the termly school census data
collection and instead complete the School Level Annual School Census
(SLASC) data collection.
An Excel spreadsheet containing the requested information is enclosed.
This comes from the 2019 SLASC collection and contains the DfE number,
school name and software supplier code.
School name was not returned in all cases during the 2019 collection, we
are unable to impute this with what is held on get information about
schools (GIAS) as aware it is currently being updated with accurate
information.
It is not possible to provide the software supplier name as this is
information is not held. However, the included software supplier code
contains the software supplier name in the majority of cases.
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.
If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should
make a complaint to the Department by writing to me within two calendar
months of the date of this letter. Your complaint will be considered by
an independent review panel, who were not involved in the original
consideration of your request.
If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint to the
Department, you may then contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Kind Regards
